Radar Guns Needed At Local Bus Stops

School is back in session and parents are arming themselves with radar guns to protect their families from speeders.  Construction zones on highways can mean detour through local routes.  This results in problems for law enforcement, as motorists maintain their highway speed in local streets and sometimes school zones.  Is a radar gun enough to prevent tragedies in the near future?

Parents near Springfield, MO are now preventing their children from going to a local bus stop due to the threat of out of control motorists.  Traffic volume is heavy for this residential road and drivers are in a hurry to get to work, not thinking about the young pedestrians that await the morning buses.  Anxious motorists are even running through the stop sign, since it is known that there are no police with police radar guns present.

Currently there is a speed detection trailer with orange flags that displays the speed of passing motorists, yet the problem is persisting.  The community has tried using handheld radar guns combined with digital cameras to take matters into their own hands.  Stories like this need to be publicized, and RadarGunsBlog.com is your place for the radar gun news and issues that matter.

Not All Violations Require a Radar Gun

It isn’t necessary to set off a radar gun to be breaking the law.  As the wintry weather continues on, drivers need to be careful as the road become more and more dangerous.  In cases like this, radar guns are not the dictators of driving violations and safety concerns.  Even driving the speed limit could be a hazard to the motorists around you.

Many drivers believe that since the posted speed limit is 60 miles per hour, they can drive 60 no matter what the conditions are.  Not accounting for bad weather is one of the biggest reasons that accidents occur.  For example, a handheld radar gun could be pointed at you and you are driving the posted 35 miles per hour, yet with the snowy roads and the likelihood of ice, the officer has a perfectly acceptable reason to issue a ticket.  Fog, snow, ice, rain, and high winds all need to be accounted for when driving, and clearly a laser radar gun is not going to identify these dangerous drivers.

Common sense should dictate the safest speed to drive when the conditions are unfavorable.  Common sense should also tell you that RadarGuns.com the number one source of radar guns, laser radar guns, and police radar guns.  If it clocks speed, we have it.  Browse around and find the speed radar gun fit for your law enforcement or sports development needs.

New Pocket Radar: The Future of Radar Guns?

Radar guns and laser radar guns have been the recipients of huge technological advances in the past year.  Following a similar trend, 2010 looks to be another stellar year for handheld radar guns.  Despite the discoveries and breakthroughs that have occurred in the LIDAR and radar industries, the size and shape of a radar gun has remained for the most part unchanged.  Now, a new type of radar is on the horizon.

At the upcoming CES 2010, a speed radar device is to be unveiled that is sure to shock law enforcement and at-home crime fighters for years to come.  Radar guns usually resemble an oversized pistol; the newest speed detection device can fit in the palm of your hand.  Dubbed “Pocket Radar”, this new personal radar device utilizes point-and-shoot functionality in a palm sized form to deliver a radar device that can match its full-size predecessors.

Check how fast local motorists are traveling, see how fast your daughter can run, or even clock baseball pitches.  All you need is a set of AAA batteries.  Stay tuned to OpticsPlanet.com for all the latest radar gun news release information.
