Radar Gun Technology Used by Middle School Students

If you have ever picked up a radar gun from a quality name brand such as Bushnell, Sports Radar, or SpeedChek, you’ve witnessed how simple and easy it is to operate.  Advances in technologies have enabled radar guns and other speed detection devices to be operated with the pull of a trigger.  This makes laser radar guns easy for all ages, and middle school students in Arkansas are taking advantage of the device and using it for the benefit of the community.

Five students of Pinkston Middle School in Mountain Home, Arkansas, are taking transportation issues into their own hands.  As members of the Silver Spartans, they are beginning to monitor traffic speeds in front of the school using a speed trailer and a handheld radar gun.  The research is being conducted for their FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) Lego League project. FIRST is an international competition formed to engage students in developing science, engineering and technology skills that involve fosters confidence, communication, and leadership.

Lasar radar is compact and easy to use for people young and old.  All it takes is a good aim and you can be protecting your local streets.  OpticsPlanet has all the radar guns you need to battle speeding motorists in your neighborhood.  Find the best radar gun that’s right for you today.

Radar Guns and Conflicting Speed Limits

The desire to eliminate traffic fatalities is the motive for many law enforcement professionals around the nation to increase their radar gun presence, as well as their other intense efforts to stop speeders.  Radar guns and other speed detection devices are being revamped and upgraded in preparation for a bustling holiday season.  Police radar guns are frequently watching over busy highways and overpasses that are notorious for high speed driving and reckless endangerment.  What happens when drivers on the same road experience different speed limits?

This calamity is confusing drivers in Franklin, Tennessee.  On one stretch of road, the speed limit is 45 going north, yet heading south on the same path the limit is 35.  What a laser speed detection conundrum!  When speed enforcement officials point their laser radar guns towards traffic, it can become an ordeal trying to understand who is breaking the law and who is just misinformed.  The police department insists that they are not trying to trick motorists into speeding, and most tickets issued in the area are for drivers going over 50 mph.

Radar guns from brands such Decatur and Stalker aren’t the only efforts needed to protect motorists and pedestrians.  Traffic enforcement coordination in the form of speed limit signs and knowledgeable law makers have to work together to facilitate the best driving environment possible.  Stay tuned for more news in the world of radar guns here and on OpticsPlanet.com.

Glove Radar from Sports Sensors!

Baseball Radar Gun

Radar guns are a very common sight during baseball practice and in training camps.  Do not be surprised to see a Bushnell Speedster or a Stalker Radar Sport 2 radar gun being aimed at the new star pitcher.  These may one day become an alternate option due to the advances of baseball glove radar.  Imagine just you and a pitcher, practicing the week before opening day, and you have the speed of every throw right in front of your eyes, without anybody having to point a baseball radar gun at the ball.  Those times are now.

The Glove Radar™ from Sports Sensors is a small inexpensive Doppler radar velocity sensor which attaches to a softball or baseball glove to measure the speed of the ball just before you catch it.  Attachment is a breeze, too.  Virtually any glove can receive this speed detection upgrade thanks to the clever design of this sport radar gun.  The baseball glove radar is small, versatile, and cost efficient, made available to teams young and old.

The Glove Radar™ is operated by a mini-computer that displays the calculated miles-per-hour ball speed on an LCD screen.  Packaged in a rugged plastic housing assembly, the baseball glove with radar is sealed to protect the inner workings from dust, dirt and moisture which can be encountered during your everyday practices.  This Sports Sensor Radar Gun will be a great addition to your team’s equipment lineup, so step to the plate at OpticsPlanet and find the radar you need!
