Radar Guns with Volunteer Law Enforcement

Neighborhood safety is in the hands of the entire community, and one police department is supplying the radar guns so that locals can take charge.  We all know that the sight of a radar gun along a highway or street will cause drivers to tap their brakes.  Law enforcement officials are trying to have speed radar guns everywhere possible, even if the manpower cannot be present.

Police radar guns will be wielded by trained senior citizens in Frankfort, Illinois for their Seniors on Patrol volunteer program.  The five-week long course introduces topics such as parking lot monitoring, speed enforcement with a radar gun, first aid, and police officer etiquette.  On the beat, seniors have a laser radar gun and can write down the licenses, car make and model, and description of offenders.  They are, however, not permitted to approach a speeder.

Many seniors have plenty of time on their hands, and are very enthusiastic and eager to give back to the communities that they have helped raise over the years.  Radar guns are instrumental in keeping their small roads safe from speeders, and OpticsPlanet carries the radar gun that can protect yours.  We carry Bushnell radar guns and other sports radar guns just a mouse click away.

Radar Guns Slow Down Vancouver Drivers

Speedtrak Speed Radar

The United States is not the only country that is preparing the radar guns for school zones.  Vancouver cops are arming their police radar guns to get drivers to slow down in school and playground zones, hoping to keep young pedestrians safe and sound.  With school quickly approaching, drivers are unfortunately not in tune with the speed limits posted near these protected areas.  Watch your speed the next time you drive past an elementary school or a radar gun may soon in your future.

Vancouver cops hold an annual campaign entitled “Speed Watch” which set up a police radar gun in “high risk” areas to catch speeders that are endangering the lives of tomorrow’s youth. All the targeted areas are near playgrounds, where 30 km/hr speed limits are in effect 365 days a year.

Speed radar guns could cost Canadian speeders $170 or more if they are not wearing a safety belt.  Last year over a hundred tickets were given using laser radar guns, making pedestrians safer one fine at a time.  OpticsPlanet carries dozens of best radar guns and speed guns on the market for competitive prices.  For more of a concentrated focus, visit our sister store www.RadarGuns.com and check out all of the latest radar guns from Bushnell, Stalker, and more!

Police Radar Guns Catching More Than Just Speeders

Many drivers believe that radar guns are annoyances that are used to generate income for law enforcement agencies.  Truthfully, a radar gun is so much more.  Speed radar guns are just a small facet of the preventative measures police officers take in order to keep our neighborhoods safe.  Police radar guns stop hasty drivers from making a mistake and getting into an accident.  Sometimes, the speeders have a lot more to hide than their mph.

Recently on a Pittsburg turnpike, a 2009 Dodge Charger was pulled over in violation of the posted speed limit.  The officer noticed that the driver was accelerating very quickly and seemed nervous during the stop.  A K-9 officer soon located a cardboard box that contained 250,000 packages of heroin in the vehicle.  Authorities called the case the second-largest seizure of heroin in the county's history, and this is all thanks to great police work, and a radar gun.

The next time you see the flash of a speed gun on the freeway or turnpike, do not be alarmed and frustrated.  Remember that not only are the roadways becoming a safer place, the nation as a whole is being watched over, one radar gun at a time.  For more news and updates in the world of laser radar guns, stay tuned to RadarGunsBlog.com and OpticsPlanet.

Radar Guns on Motorcycles: Law Enforcement Innovations

Police Radar Gun

Being such a necessary tool, radar guns come standard with a patrol officer’s kit.  He or she may receive a handheld radar gun like the Bushnell Speedster, or more sophisticated setup like the police radar guns from Decatur.  Whichever the case, law enforcement professionals need this traffic monitoring tool at their side at all times.  In New York, troopers are receiving modified motorcycles that allow for bundles of equipment to be stored. Their new response time and effectiveness will be a measure of these new vehicles.

Aside from the already astonishing look of the 2009 Harley Davidson, the police bike has visible compartments and modifications all around.  Officers can store their computers, firearms, and other necessary equipment on-board, and even utilize the mounted radar gun on the right handlebars.  Having the speed gun attached to the motorcycles lets the driver freely access it, even while in motion.  This new innovation in police radar guns looks to be promising.

Every industry experiences rapid technological advancements, and OpticsPlanet stays one step ahead by providing you with the information and news on all of the latest breakthroughs.  We carry dozens of sports radar guns and radar speed guns perfect for your application, so check back often at OpticsPlanet.com.
