Radars fight blind spots
As you can imagine, a lot of car accidents occur while a driver tries to change lanes. But a driver sometimes forgets about blind spots. So, the dilemma has been solved with the help of radars and cameras. The radar is installed on the sides of the Audi and Volvo 2007 models. So, nowadays radar technologies help preventing car accidents. The same method is used in other vehicles to detect and prepare for an impact with vehicles and pedestrians. The system is called the 'precollision system' and it senses a collision before it actually occurs. It automatically tries to minimize the effect of an accident. These systems use radar to detect vehicles in front.

How does Radar Gun work?
All of us have heard, seen, and some of us have even experienced, technology that police patrol use to determine a vehicle's speed. But have you ever thought about how does patrol effectively and accurately determine the speed of your car? Yes, you're right, with the help of a radar gun. The basics of a radar gun technology are very simple: waves are transmitted from a police radar gun to the speeding object, and then are reflected back to a radar gun on a different frequency. There are also two types of speed gun detection: radar gun, the so called traffic radar gun, and laser gun technology. Laser guns are mostly used in the city, while radar gun is used vastly on the highways. The thing is that there is still a window for error opportunity. But in such cases inacuracy arises due to improper use. So, if you're a civilian, and want to combat radar gun and laser gun detection, then you need to use a radar gun detector. And here the advice is: the higher end radar detector will give you a better range that will alert you about the patrol presence sooner. So, be very careful and stay safe on the road!
Will Radar Gun help?
There are many articles written about the safe driving, about drivers' behaviour, speed limit and police officers, trying to keep public safety. But unfortunately, and most of us know this, nothing slows down a driver like the blue lights of a police car, or a sight of a police radar gun or a speed trailer. But police can't be everywhere at once, and why should police only be the public safety keeper? Why can't we watch our driving habits ourselves? Talking on the phone, putting a make-up on, eating - are only a few basic habits anyone can address. There are no more words, you already know all this, don't take traffic deaths for granted! Give yourself a little more time, a little more courtesy and a little more attention to pedestrians and other drivers. Good luck! And stay safe on the roads!
Watch Program with the help of Radar Gun
In Prince Rupert City, Canada there is a speed Watch Program, which is intended to show drivers how fast they're going and provide data about local driving habits. This program is randomly set up at school zones and around playgrounds throughout the city. Every volunteer in this program gets a radar gun and a digital speed display, the so called Traffic Radar Gun, that hopefully will get people to slow down as they make their way through areas frequented by kids. Most of the time drivers aren't focused on driving, especially when talking on the phone or thinking about work. So the main purpose of this program is to get people's minds back on safe driving. These zones are specifically dangerous, because children are unpredictable, and few seconds drivers' safe speeding through a school zone could be the last few seconds of somebody's life. Volunteers are allowed to use a police radar gun, but are unable to ticket drivers. The collected information is send to police departments, and they determine when and where to send out traffic officers.
Battle for a Radar Gun
Sheriff of the Jackson County, S. Mississippi, says that the problem of the countless speeders in their county is the result of .... A Radar Gun. Or it's better to say its absence. The police department of the Jackson County simply doesn't have it. Drivers' speed goes unregulated, and so many residents are tired of cars and trucks flying by their houses at excessive speeds. Sheriff said that the average speed is between 70 and 90 miles per hour. The drivers don't care, they go fast, but don't realize the consequences of their driving. So, now some people are pushing state legislators for a solution. They are preparing resolutions for each of the civic organizations of Jackson County. "We've got to do something. Radar Gun, is a scientific tool that's needed in detecting speed. We have DNA for rape and murder cases, we have fingerprints. This is scientific stuff. That's what a radar gun is. Let us have the scientific tool we need to save people's lives," Sheriff Byrd says. For now, Lowndes County is the only county in Mississippi that has permission to use radar gun, including traffic radar gun or handheld police radar gun.
Radar Guns and speed tickets
Are the flashing lights in your rearview mirror, policeman with radar gun and speed tickets your favorite things? If not, then make sure you drive under the limit, wear seatbelt and signal all your turns. In Lake County, New Chicago's borders enclose just two-thirds of a mile, but police there issued 2,030 tickets for traffic violations - the fastest clip of any Lake County community. "Speed traps" is a term police tend to avoid, and in recent years ticketing has increased as federal grants have funded aggressive enforcement of seat-belt laws and drinking and driving offenses. Also the help of handheld police radar guns and speed trailers is very useful. New Chicago gets a little extra revenue itself. The town collected $68,000 in traffic fines from the Lake County courts in 2006, enough to pay three officers $10.50 an hour for a year's worth of 40-hour work weeks. So, be careful on the road, stay warm and drive safely!
Two-in-one Radar detector and Jammer
One of the Technology Corporations in Taiwan has introduced a two-in-one radar detector and jammer that is said to block off virtually all types of laser emitted from speed tracking radar guns, including police radar guns and traffic radar guns. The product incorporates two transceivers with an integrated laser detector and jammer. The model has an operating wavelength of 904nm and a voltage rating of 12/24V. Its audible alert has a sound level of 95dB. The ABS housing measures 110x10x52mm and is slim, lightweight and can be concealed easily inside the car.
Radar Detectors (part2)
Today I continue my section on radar detectors. So, this small electronic device picks up the radar gun's signal. The use of a radar detector is not legal in all states. For example, in a passenger vehicle it is legal in all states, except for Virginia, Washington DC., and military bases. Commercial vehicles less than 10,000 pounds can use radar detectors. As for Canada, only 3 provinces allow to use these devices. Today I also would like to mention about Laser Jammers and Radar Jammers which are illegal in California, Colorado, Minnesota, Nebraska, Utah, Oklahoma, Virginia, Illinois, and Washington DC. But most drivers keep the anti-radar device attached to the visor and other inconspicuous areas. A very basic police radar gun sends out a radio signal at a specific frequency. The Radar Gun signal bounces off a car's body and returns to the radar gun. The signal moves at a constant speed and a built-in computer calculates the time it takes for a signal to return. And of course, closer the object, the frequency becomes higher. And one more thing, Police do not have to stay stationary to detect a speeding car with a radar gun.
Radar Gun in a Trailer
Oklahoma State sheriff deputies says that trailer that speeders past (and sometimes don’t even pay attention to) is their first warning to slow down. These trailers will serve a big purpose indeed, though most of the drivers don’t even know that. As in every state, there are people speeding all the time. Some days are worse than others, usually more on the weekends, because people are going places and doing things. Some of the drivers even speed right through the stop signs too. So, after several complaints, county sheriff offices decided to pull out some reinforcement. And the main purpose of this reinforcement is that aggressive drivers realize what the speed limit is and slow down. Because officers don’t want them to hurt people or themselves. The trick is that inside the trailer is a radar detector, which displays the speed of a driver. The drivers will be able to see how fast they are going. It's like Radar Trailers for continuous speed monitoring in School Zones. So, it’s going to be also like a warning, because the next time there might be a police officer with a police radar gun sitting there ready to issue a driver a citation for speeding.
Radar Gun and CCTV Camera caught a speeding police officer
While surfing the web, I found this very interesting article. I thought that our Radar Gun's Blog readers would be quite surprised reading this. And you will see how hand held radar guns can help you fight against speeders. So, Lee and Teresa Sipple live at the bottom of a steep hill outside of Rome. They say that most motorists ignore the posted speed limit and zoom by their house, endangering them and their 2-year-old son. They got tired of this happening every day, but at this time they could land in jail for fighting for their rights. Lee and Teresa Sipple have an upcoming court date, where they’ll find out if they will be arrested for messing with a police officer. Lee Sipple told the Media that he doesn’t want to hurt anyone, he just want a quite life. He informed that some of the drivers go 50 and 46 miles per hour. You might be surprised and interested in how he knew that… Well, you might imagine, he bought a Radar Gun! But it’s not all, before their decision to take a further step and buy a radar gun, they spent $1200 on CCTV Cameras to be able to capture the evidence. So, the most surprising Lee’s catch since that time…is catching Kennesaw police officer coming down the hill and running 34 miles per hour in a 25 miles per hour zone…. There is nothing known yet about the court decision, which is taking place on February 14th, so we need to be patient, and we’ll get the results soon.
UK residents are starting their Radar Gun Watch
Residents living in Nuttall Lane and Whittingham Drive in Ramsbottom, UK, are fed up with drivers speeding past their homes. So, now these people will be given their own handheld police radar guns to trap these unlawful drivers. Residents will be trained by police on how to use equipment and to monitor motorists from outside their own homes. The so called "speed watch" ( radar gun) campaign is still undergoing some changes and fine-tuning as to how exactly it will work. But most likely it will work the way that if a resident using traffic radar gun clocks a speeding driver, the details will be passed onto the police who will then send out letters and maybe even tickets. The scheme will be officially launched on March 3, and will start in Greater Manchester first. If it is successful, it could be launched in other areas. Though it's has been already used in some rural parts of the country. During the training, residents will learn how to use the equipment, special techniques for catching offenders and how to record full speeding incidents.
Radar Detector won't sense Radar Gun 100%
I think that people who are interested in Radar Guns might want to know about Radar Detectors. A radar detector is a great tool, as one might think. But Anti-Radars could hurt you a lot, if you are not sure how to use it properly. And I will try to explain in this Radar Guns Blog more about a radar detector. When a person buys a radar detector, s/he hopes to speed without being caught. But believe me, you will throw away this 'useful' speed-helper after another couple of tickets. It is very important to understand how this tool works. So, a radar detector will alert you when it senses special signal frequencies. Radar Gun emits certain frequencies. And a radar detector looks for these frequencies. Be alert that these anti-speed products do not detect police officers or police cars. They only sense the signals from devices policemen sometimes use. To be continued... Stay Up-To-Dated with Radar Guns Blog.
